Meet the Doctors of

St. Francis Ophthalmology Group


 

Dr. Jerrold C. Bocci

Dr. Bocci is a native of the area. He received his Bachelors Degree from Santa Clara University and his Medical Degree from the University of California Medical School in San Francisco. His internship was completed at St. Mary's hospital in San Francisco and he took his Ophthalmology Residency at the Jules Stein Institute at UCLA. Dr. Bocci is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Presently, he is Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Seton Medical Center in Daly City. Dr. Bocci's main outside interests are golf and traveling.

 

 

Dr. Barry A. McNamara

Dr. Barry A. McNamara graduated with a bachelors of science from U.C. Berkeley. He then received his medical school training from Creighton University's School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon finishing medical school Dr. McNamara and his family moved out to Oakland, California, where he interned at Oakland- Alameda County hospital. Dr. McNamara took his residency in ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is currently an active member of the staffs of Seton hospital, St. Mary's hospital, and San Mateo County General hospital where he is the chief of ophthalmology. He has taken additional courses in laser vision correction. Dr. McNamara's interests include snow skiing, tennis, swimming, and biking.

 

 

Dr. John S. McNamara

Dr. John McNamara grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He first earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated with a Medical Degree from the Midwestern University College of Medicine at Chicago. He interned at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and finished his ophthalmology residency at Oklahoma State University hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. McNamara is a board certified Ophthalmologist and is currently on the staff of St. Mary's Hospital, San Francisco, and Seton Medical Center, Daly City. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Ophthalmology. Away from the office Dr. McNamara enjoys tennis, golf, snow skiing, and spending time with his family.

 

 

Dr. Paul R. Holland

Dr. Paul R. Holland graduated with a Bachelors of Science from U.C. Santa Barbara. He has both a masters degree in pharmacology from Tulane University and a M.D. from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. Upon finishing medical school Dr. Holland moved to the Bay Area where he interned at Saint Marys Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Holland completed his residency at the Univertisy of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Philippine Medical Society of Northern California, Diplomat American Board of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is currently an active member of the staffs of Seton Medical Center, Campus Surgery Center, and San Mateo Medical Center. Dr. Holland enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and many outdoor activities.
